In Short
This falafel spot is the first New York location of a European chain, but it won't be the last if the long lines of lunching nine to fivers are any indication. The decor is right out of '60s sci-fi: A spacey green and white pattern covers the tiny room, and exposed, round bulbs hang from the ceiling. A handful of counter seats accommodate the lucky few.The FoodThe line moves quickly thanks to the limited scope of the menu, which essentially boils down to one basic choice: Do you want your golden brown, abundantly spiced falafel accompanied by hummus and sauteed eggplant or not? Beyond that, diners customize their sandwich at an all-you-can-stuff toppings bar that includes flash-fried broccoli, sweet pickles, hearty tabouleh, pickled carrots, chunky beets and fresh tomatoes. Three choices of hot sauce add a fiery finish, and garlic mayo sweetens the deal on crisp, perfectly salted Belgian fries.
