In Short
Much like their Vietnamese cousins the banh mi, Num Pangâ??s Cambodian sandwiches are a tantalizing mixture of sweet and savory, blending meat like pulled pork, Hoisin meatballs and tiger shrimp with a mixture of cilantro, pickled carrots, cucumber and chili mayo, all on crispy Parisi Bakery baguettes. If they look familiar, itâ??s probably because theyâ??re fairly similar to the sandwiches served at co-owner Ratha Chauâ??s more formal downtown restaurant, Kampuchea. Here, however, diners order from an open window on the street and take their food upstairs to a tiny room filled with barstools and Sriracha-lined counters.
