This minimalist, SoHo-styled restaurant and bar specializes in appetizing, sharable plates paired with generous drinks.

The Scene
Dangling light bulbs, exposed brick walls and simple wooden tables set the mood of a chic, minimalist art bar. The overall vibe is dark and upscale minus the steep prices. The small rectangular room is far from cold though, as savory mini-platters and ample cocktails fuel a high spirited and talkative crowd. A sharp-looking waitstaff quickly tends to your every need.

The Food
Appetizers are often the best things on a menu, and this "gastro-tavern" serves nothing but, with each plate large enough to share with a group of four. The superb food matches the surroundings, highlighting essential ingredients with accents of dramatic seasoning. Curried potatoes pack a peppery punch. Plump grilled sardines shimmer in Portuguese seasoning, while steak with Japanese radish make an unusual but satisfying pair. Of the crispy flatbreads, the prosciutto and bechamel is a favorite. And here's the topper: All dishes are affordably priced.

What to Drink

Try a signature cocktail (such as the bartender's eponymous margarita), with the extra often provided in a side cup.
